Macey Iannello was born 30 seconds after midnight Jan. 1

Macey Iannello wasn't due to be born until at least Jan. 3, but she made her appearance into the world early -- and captured the spotlight as the Cleveland area's first baby of 2013.

"She made her presence known," laughed mom Amy. "She had an agenda."

Amy, who was scheduled to be induced Jan. 3, started having contractions in the early afternoon on New Year's Eve, but didn't go to the hospital till about 8:45 p.m.

"I wasn't even sure they'd let me stay," she said. "The contractions were bad, but they weren't very close together."

She did stay and it's a good thing -- labor lasted only a few hours.

"Everything moved very quickly," Amy said.

The couple has two boys, 4 and 20 months. Clem also has two girls and a boy from a previous marriage.

Amy said Macey received a special hat, blanket and other gifts from Southwest for being the first baby of 2013 -- and plenty of special attention.

"We've had a lot of visitors," Amy said. "Everyone's been really nice."
