Sanford-Brown College Family Wellness Health Fair

Did you know physically fit children have a 2.4 times greater chance of passing math tests and a twice as great of a chance to pass reading tests compared to their less fit peers? Or those children with healthy diets perform better in school than children with unhealthy diets?

Sanford-Brown Cleveland knows it can be tough to keep the whole family focused on healthy habits. That’s why Cleveland is one of 20 locations nationwide participating in the school’s Family Wellness Week. The mission is simple: to empower families to live healthy lifestyles.

On Thursday, August 1, children and their moms, dads, and grandparents in the Cleveland area are invited to take advantage of free healthcare screenings and educational activities: vision checks, BMI screenings, reading activities and fitness games like freeze dance and jump rope relays for the kids.

Family Wellness Week provides an opportunity for students to take their classroom knowledge into the community to ensure all families have access to healthcare screenings.
