Librarians Heather Timko, Dona Stein, & Jennifer Niederhausen bring to you three great new books to check-out at the Strongsville Library each week!

Signature of All Things By Elizabeth Gilbert, October 2013, 512 pages.

Fans of Eat, Pray, Love will be thrilled that Elizabeth Gilbert returns to fiction writing with a novel that tells a story of love, adventure and discovery.  This sweeping saga covers most of the 18th and 19th centuries and follows the Whittaker family.  Henry Whittaker was a poor-born Englishman that makes a great fortune in the South American quinine trade and becomes the richest man in Philadelphia.  The story continues with the birth of Henry’s daughter Alma in the year 1800.  She has a brilliant mind and uses her gifts to become a well regarded botanist.  This is a historical fiction novel that takes its readers on a world wide tour during the period of time of the Enlightenment and well into the Industrial Revolution.  Some of the stopping points along the way include London, Peru, Philadelphia, Tahiti and Amsterdam.  This new book is a must read.

Songs of Willow Frost By Jamie Ford, September 2013, 256 pages.

Best selling author of Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet returns with this new novel about twelve year old William Eng who is a Chinese American boy living in the Sacred Heart Orphanage in Seattle.  On a trip to Moore Theatre, William sees the actress, Willow Frost, and believes that she is actually his mother.  With the help of his friend, Charlotte, they sneak out of the orphanage and set-out on a journey to find Willow and prove that she is truly William’s mother.  This sweeping historical family drama is sure to please readers and is destined to be popular with book clubs.

Sycamore Row By John Grisham, October 2013, 464 pages.

Fans of John Grisham and his first novel  A Time to Kill are going to be thrilled that there is a finally a sequel after almost a quarter of a century.  In this long awaited sequel, Grisham returns to Ford County and its hero Jack Brigance.  You can expect the usual intrigue, suspense and plot twists that we have all come to enjoy from a typical Grisham novel.  Jack Brigance takes us on a thrilling ride in his search for justice in a small Southern town.
