Best of All Possible Worlds

Grace Delarua is a translator and civil servant on Cygnus Beta when male refugees from a neighboring world are put into her care. With Sidira destroyed, the rather Vulcan-like Sidiri need to rebuild their society and find related bloodlines, as most of the survivors are male. Delarua joins them in a year long journey to locate Sidiri descendants. This is a science fiction book which includes a romance, as opposed to a romance with science fiction trappings. Fans of China Mieville and Ursula Leguin may enjoy this title.
The Good House

A year before the novel takes place, Hildy Good was invited over to her family’s house for dinner. Little did she know it was an intervention due to the fact she’s a raging alcoholic. Now that it’s a year later, Hildy feels she was unjustly persecuted and that she can control her drinking through moderation. On top of her feelings of loneliness and denial she has become embroiled in a scandal in her New England town that involves two craggy seniors. Fans of Elizabeth Berg and Jeanne Ray will enjoy this novel.
Insane City

Dave Barry has taken a decade off from writing novels but he returns with this dark comic masterpiece. Fans of Barry will be pleased he has returned to fiction with this caper that follows Seth Weinstein en route to his destination wedding in Florida. Seth already knows he is about to marry someone out of his league, but little did he know the lengths he would have to go through to get to the altar. This book has similar feeling to the popular Hangover movies.
