School of Rock AC/DC Show and Performance on WKYC. Staring Down the 90's , Grad School and Rock 101 are all starting this week.

It’s been a busy week for School of Rock on Pearl Rd. 

The Strongsville School of Rock presented its inaugural shows on Sunday, Jan. 20th and Saturday, Jan. 26th at Brothers Lounge in Cleveland. The band of twelve students rocked their way through seventeen AC/DC songs. Some of the highlights of the show included ‘It’s A Long Way To The Top’, ‘Back In Black’, ‘Highway To Hell’ and the rousing  show stopper ‘Big Balls’. 

The band was invited to play AC/DC’s classic ‘TNT’ on ‘Live On Lakeside’ on WKYC Channel 3 on Friday the 25th. The band ripped through the song with a rousing performance. Jared Koepp, the Asst. Show Director was interviewed by the hosts Michael Cardamone and Danita Thomas. You can watch the performance and interview here:

an overview of last century’s final decade. SoR’s Music Director Tommy Rich and Show Director Jared Koepp painstakingly chose the set list, which initially included over 60 choices. Songs include Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit’, Pearl Jam’s “Even Flow”, No Doubt’s “Just A Girl”, Cake’s “The Distance” as well as 24 more classics. The first rehearsal is Saturday, Feb. 2nd, from noon until 3. The shows will take place at Brothers Lounge in Cleveland on Saturday, May 11th and Sunday, May 12th. We are still taking new enrollments for the show. 

Rock 101, our performance program for beginner students is also starting on Saturday, Feb. 2nd from 10:30am until noon. The group will be kicking off the rehearsal with The White Stripes “Seven Nation Army” along with a few others. Show Director is Jared Koepp. 

Our Grad School held an Open House and Jam on Monday, Jan. 28th. The performance group for adults rehearsed through The Rolling Stones ‘Gimme Shelter’, The Beatles’ “Come Together”, The Kinks’ “You Really Got Me”, The Doors “Break On Through” which eventually morphed into “Tequila” by the Champs!  The program lasts fifteen weeks; starting with 5 weeks of individual lessons, followed by 10 weeks of rehearsals plus 4 more lessons. The final performances will take place at Brothers Lounge in Cleveland on Saturday, May 11th and Sunday, May 12th.
