New Year . . . To Rent or Own a Home?
2012 presents many new decisions for the new year -- so should I rent or should I own?
There are many choices that consumers have in the real estate market today and one of those is "should I rent or should I own a home?"
According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), 84 percent of homeowners indicated that owning a home has been a positive experience, whereas only 51 percent of renters say the same about their experience.
As a professional real estate agent, I meet with each buyer to try to answer that question of "should I rent or should I buy a home?"

The answer comes down to a personal decision and should be based on how long will they be in the home, have they compared the total costs of renting versus owning, and are they able to maintain the home and make repairs and will the home satisfy their long-term needs.
