Joan Elenore Gasior, 89, Beloved Wife and Mother

Gasior passed away on Jan. 11 due to complications caused by an autoimmune disorder.

Joan Elenore Gasior, 89, Strongsville, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at Parma Community General Hospital, following complications from an autoimmune disorder.

She was born March 20, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio to Anne and William Ferguson. She graduated from James Ford Rhodes High School in Cleveland and lived her entire life at residences along Pearl Road in Cleveland, Parma, Parma Heights and Strongsville, according to Busch Funeral and Crematory Services.

Gasior was primarily a homemaker but also worked part-time at both Higbee's and Minnesota Fabrics.

She was a long-time member of the Brooklyn Heights United Church of Christ, was active in the Women's Circle, worked in the nursery and regularly assisted at dinners and various functions hosted by the church.

She volunteered for many years at Deaconess Hospital in Cleveland and was an active member of the Ridgewood Family Y.M.C.A. in Parma. She is described by her daughters as the "best mother ever, non-judgmental, always supportive, fun-loving and a sharp dresser."

Joan's surviving family members include her three loving daughters Diane J. Hienton of Aurora, Illinois, Susan L. Allen of Friendswood, Texas and Michelle J. Kiczek of Exton, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren Michael Konecsni, Jeffrey Kiczek, Mark Kiczek and Megan Kiczek; and her great-grandchildren Kaden and Kallie Konecsni.

Preceding her in death was her beloved husband of 42 years, Conrad Paul Gasior, who passed away suddenly at their home on June 6, 1983.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

The family suggests memorial contributions be forwarded in Joan's name to the Active Older Adults Program of the Ridgewood Family Y.M.C.A., 6840 Ridge Rd, Parma, Oh 44129.
