Francis J. Branic

On June 25, Francis J. Branic, 88, a WWII Navy veteran, passed peacefully into eternal life at home surrounded by his loving family. Francis was third of six children born to Andrew and Julia Branic of Altoona, PA. During the war, he served as a radio operator on the SS New York and later married his hometown sweetheart Mary Ann Fox. Their marriage has been a testimony of love and faith for sixty years.

He was a resident of Strongsville and a faithful member of St. Joseph Church for fifty-three years. Together, Fran and Ann raised five children: Jeffrey Branic (Neomia), Julie Mehallo (Stephen), Gregory Branic (Debbie), Susan Bradshaw (Jim), and Mary Kaminski (Jim). Their family has grown to include 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a fifth is expected soon. In 1990, Fran retired from Ford where he worked as an electrician for 35 years. He was a member of the IBEW and was highly respected for his quality work and ethics. Francis enjoyed reading, woodworking, bowling, raising roller canaries, and gardening but golf was his passion. Even more than golf, he loved spending time with his family, whether it was teaching the proper golf swing or enjoying the many Branic family vacations. His wit and contagious smile will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, family and friends. VISITATION SUNDAY 1-5 p.m. at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 PEARL RD, STRONGSVILLE. Funeral Mass is Monday at 10 a.m. at , Strongsville. Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Family suggests memorial contributions to Catholic Charities, 1404 E. 9th St., 8th Fl., Cleveland OH 44114.

Harry Farnsworth “Sonny” passed away June 24, 2012. Loving husband of the late Eleanore. Dear father of Cynthia Deacon (Howard) and Garry Farnsworth. Brother of Lee Davison (Ray), the late Marshall Farnsworth and Bettie Preston. Loving grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. Harry loved the game of baseball. He was inducted into the Umpires Hall of Fame in Euclid and umpired baseball for over 50 years. Funeral service was Thursday at Jardine’s. Interment private.

Charles E. Bricker

Charles E. Bricker “Chuck,” 83, passed away June 23, 2012. Loving husband of June and the late Alberta. Dear father of David(Cindy), Dawn Raypole(Alan), Jodi Helderman (Phillip) and the late Jackie. Step-father of Carl Criblez(Hilda) and Lynn Giachetti. Brother of Mary Ancik (Mike) and the late Ted and Kenny. Beloved grandfather of 12. Great grandfather of eight. Chuck was a master carpenter for 50 years, member of Tower City Barbershop Chorus, long time member of Strongsville United Methodist Church and Church choir, and man of faith. Funeral Service was Thursday at . Interment New London, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to the Strongsville United Methodist Church, 13500 Royalton Rd., Strongsville OH 44136. 

Bob Rabatin

Bob Rabatin passed away June 22, 2012. Devoted husband for 18 years to Sherry. Dear father of Bobby and Tim. Dearly beloved son of Robert and Geraldine Rabatin. Loving brother of Anita Spangler and Bill Rabatin. Loving uncle of Michael, Matthew, Danny, Manny, Maggie and Chase. Loving cousin. Funeral Mass was Wednesday at St. Ambrose Church, Brunswick. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Family requests memorial contributions to Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation, P.O. Box 5312, Akron OH 44334. 

Gordon D. Schoening

Gordon D. Schoening passed peacefully at home June 21 with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Marian whom he fell in love with in high school and married in 1955. He was a US Naval Reserve Veteran (1957-1961). Gordon was a mixologist for over 40 years and beloved by all he served. He retired from Bucci’s in Berea in 1996. Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Marian; his two sons, Randal (Aileen), Corey (Judy); his grandsons, Matthew (Stephanie), Brent(Meghan), Nathan, and Brandon; his great-grandchildren Sydnie and Oliver; nieces, nephews, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his son Brian. Funeral Mass was Monday atSt. Albert the Great in North Royalton. Interment Holy Cross. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the 18659 Drake Rd., Strongsville, OH 44136.

Anne Carol Cavano

Anne Carol Cavano (nee Harwood), 62, passed away June 21, 2012. Loving fiancé of Robert Foster. Dear mother of Jill Anne and Mary Alice. Sister of June, Bill and Barbara. Carol enjoyed gardening and spending times with her dogs Genghis and Sugaree. Carol was also a volunteer for Hospice and the Wadsworth library. A special thank you to the Hospice of Medina County and the Rittman Moose Lodge. Memorial Service was Saturday at Jardine’s. 

Kathleen L. Crawford

Kathleen L. Crawford (nee Sanfilippo), 65, passed away June 20, 2012. Loving wife of Robert H. Dear mother of Brittany, Christopher (Kristen) and the late Jacqueline. Sister of Jack (Donna) and James (Donna) Sanfilippo. Daughter of the late James and Bernice Sanfilippo. Beloved grandmother of Christopher. Loving aunt. Retired from United Airlines and well known as the smiling face that greeted everyone at Strongsville Recreation Center. Kathy’s hobbies were her family and friends. Funeral Mass was Monday at .
