Um, Define 'Cult'

An anonymous caller told police there were 15 people gathered at a Camden Circle home  and she suspected they might be involved in a cult.

The caller said they were boxing, then blowing things up. She heard one man say "let's kill them," a report said.

When police arrived, they found two cars in the street and three people in the driveway. Nothing was being blown up and the trio was not loud.

Police were called to Cook Avenue about 4:50 a.m. after someone spotted a man lying across the sidewalk.

Officers roused the highly intoxicated man. "(He) states he decided to nap on his way walking home from a friend's house," a report said. 

Police took him home, but warned if he was found in that condition again, he would go to jail.

Uh Oh, Someone's Bending

A passerby asked police to check on a man bent over in the middle of the intersection of Pearl and Whitney roads July 3.

Police found the man, who was picking up cigarette butts. He appeared fine, a report said.

When Bananas Attack

A teen dressed as a banana ran up and tackled another teen dressed as a gorilla in front of on Pearl Road.

It was a simple prank involving Verizon's mascot, but the story gained national attention: The story made the Yahoo! home page, and the Associated Press called Strongsville police to ask about it.

The banana fled with a group of about four other kids.

Nail Salon Gives More than Manicures

Police received a complaint that a Royalton Road nail salon was giving customers liquor.

Police told the owner that he could not give alcohol to customers without a liquor permit. The owner agreed to stop serving the beverages and get a permit before continuing.

Thong Patrol

A woman asked police to help her get  thongs, nighties and $300 designer sunglasses from an ex-boyfriend.

A report said the woman left her belongings at the house after the break-up, and now her ex has given the items to another man, who gave them to his girlfriend.

Strange Fireballs

A woman reported seeing "strange fireballs" coming from a house having a party.

Police spoke with the host, who admitted to setting off fireworks.

The Crime of Clean Windows

Residents on Olympus Way got a little suspicious when a man came to their house and cleaned the windows -- but they never hired anyone to do it.

A report said a relative who lives there saw the man, but did not speak to him. She said he closed the slider door to clean it. He had the proper tools and did not try to get in the house, a report said.

Suspicious Walking

Police were called to Pearl Road to talk with a barefoot man who was seen pacing back and forth.

The man told officers he has a broken foot and he sometimes paces without his shoes to help it heal.
