A passerby reported seeing "a very large animal" that was "eating another animal" on Pearl Road by GFS about 1 a.m. Sept. 21.

Police found the animal, which was a dog, and its prey, which was a pizza.

An Acacia Drive resident got suspicious when his dog ran off and returned smelling like sulphur and gasoline early Sept. 23.
The man said he saw someone in a car leave a beer bottle in the street and wondered if they had thrown something at the pup.
Nope. Police took a whiff and said the culprit was easy to identify -- the dog got a direct hit from a skunk.
Officers offered the man some clean-up tips.
