Call 911 and -- Surprise! Police Show Up, Woman Learns

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

Police were prepared to break into a home on East Kerry Place Friday morning after someone dialed 911 and hung up three times.

A report said no one answered the phone when dispatchers called back. Officers went to the house just before 7 a.m. to check, and no one answered the door.

Police paged the animal warden because officers who had been to the house in the past remembered the couple owns a large dog.

The fire department was also called to help enter the house and -- potentially -- rescue someone in trouble.

About 7:30 a.m., just before authorities were about to break in, a woman answered the door. She had no idea police were there because she had been in the shower.

She admitted to calling 911, but said she didn't realize the calls went through.

She told officers she had stayed out all night, got into an argument with her husband when she came home and threatened to call 911 on him, apparently going as far as punching in the numbers on her phone.
