Guy Drives Wrong Car Home from Bar; Lots of Fireworks Complaints: Police Blotter
The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department
A man came out of Mulligan's Bar and Grill after an hour July 1 and found his Chevy Trailblazer missing.
The mystery was cleared up a few hours later when it was discovered another bar patron had driven the man's vehicle home.
The Chevy was located in the man's Brunswick Hills driveway. Meanwhile, his GMC Envoy was still in the Mulligan's lot.
Police took the rightful owner to Brunswick Hills to pick up his car.
Gun?
Someone found a shotgun shell by his car at SouthPark Mall July 3.
A report said the shell was new and unspent. An officer looked around the lot to see if there were more, but did not find any others.
Lots o' Booms
Police responded to more than a dozen complaints of people shooting off fireworks on July 3 and 4.
No arrests were reported. Police issued several warnings; in many other cases, officers could not locate where the fireworks were being ignited or the show was over when they arrived.
Calls came in about illegal fireworks on Hampton Chase, South Red Rock, Saratoga, Willow Wood, North Salem, Stoney Point, Juniper, Royalton, Howe, Mallard Circle, Ellsworth, Westwood and Oxford.
Multiple reports were called in on Stoney Point and North Salem.
Mischief
A resident reported July 2 that for the last three nights, someone had been spray painting words on the street on Courtland Drive.
Picnic to Go
Three 12-foot picnic table and two trash cans beloning to the city were stolen from Nichols Field on Sprague Road the night of July 1.
Theft from Car
An iPod was stolen from an unlocked car on Homestead Park between 2 and 3 a.m. Jule 30.
Odd Mail
A Kelsey Lane man got a copy of his electric bill in the mail July 1, along with a birth certificate and Social Security card belonging to someone he doesn't know.
A report said the items were found in Cleveland and mailed to the man by an unknown person.
Police took the documents for safekeeping.
Gunshots?
A Brushwood Lane resident reported hearing eight gunshots about 8:45 p.m. July 1, then about five minutes later, eight more.
Police checked the area, but couldn't find the source.
Bathroom Discovery
A syringe, spoon and some drug residue were found in the men's restroom at Walmart July 3.
More Mischief
Vandals unhooked a hose to a pool on Abigail lane early July 4 and dragged the pool cover into a neighbor's yard.
A beer bottle was also found floating in the pool.
