According to a report, the car was involved in a hit-skip accident near Pearl Road and Valley Parkway and fled south on Pearl.

The driver failed to pull over for police, then stopped on Westwood Drive just west of Pearl and took off on foot.

A camera at the police station caught the man running into the parking lot at Don's Pomeroy House.

About 4:30 p.m., an officer caught a glimpse of someone who looked like the driver behind Pomeroy House; about 5:15 p.m., a jogger reported a man matching the descripton turned onto Brigadoon Way.

A resident on Brigadoon told police he found his gate open.

A search failed to turn up the suspect, who was wearing gray pants and a white shirt.

Janowski said the three passengers in the car said they knew the driver by nickname and Facebook only and could not identify him.

They also said they did not know the car was stolen.

They were released to their parents, who had to drive from Perrysburg and Michigan to pick them up.
