Kicking a Puppy in a Bag; Gun May or May Not Exist: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

A Whitney Road woman told police she shared the elevator in her apartment complex with a man who was kicking a bag she believed contained a puppy.

A report said the bag was moving, and the man kicked it. He went into an apartment, where the woman said she could hear him beating the puppy, and the dog whimpering.

Police knocked on the door of the man's apartment, but no one answered. The animal control officer was assigned to follow up.

Gun? Not

A woman who went into a home on Hunting Meadows Drive to retrieve her possessions July 19 told police the man who lives there pulled a gun and said he was going to shoot her.

But when police investigated, they found the woman had gotten her belongings and left.

Neither she nor her friend had seen a gun, and the resident said he doesn't even own one.

Crime Prevention

Police took matters into their own hands July 21 after finding a car parked at SouthPark Mall with the window down and the keys in the ignition at 1:30 a.m.

An officer took the keys and secured the vehicle, leaving a note for the owner to contact Strongsville police to get them back.

The owner did call police that afternoon.

Suspicious Bags

An alert bystander reported three large duffle bags by the front entrance of the Strongsville Library about 1:30 p.m. July 20.

An officer investigated and found a woman had left the bags by the door while she ran into the library to use the restroom.
