Kids in Masks, Costumes Harassing Residents

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

At least five reports of mischief came in over the weekend, including a couple of brazen incidents, according to police.

A Kylemore Drive man reported on Friday that kids wearing costumes were ringing his doorbell and harassing his family.

He said that earlier that day, three kids dressed in costumes and masks rang his doorbell and fled. He chased after them and they dumped a mask, black hat and badminton racket as they ran.

Kids have ding-dong-ditched his house two other times in the last week.

On Overland Park, some kids rang a doorbell about 9:45 p.m. When the resident answered the door, the kids were hiding in some bushes across the street, yelling "If you want to call my mom I can give you the number."

A few minutes later, two boys wearing ski masks knocked on a window on Fuller's Lane and looked inside. When they saw someone inside, they ran off.

A resident on Idlewood Trail also reported kids ringing the doorbell and running Friday night.

And shortly before midnight on Sunday, a Fuller's Lane resident reported hearing a loud bang. Police checked the area and found a neighbor's basketball hoop broken.
