Man Asks Teen Girls to Help Pump Gas; Lighting Balloons on Fire: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

Four teenage girls were at Yogurt Vi about 8 p.m. June 16 when a man got out of his car and asked them to help him pump gas.

The girls said no and he left.

But the mother of one of the teens later called police to report the incident. 

The man was black, in his 40s or 50s and wearing a yellow shirt. He was driving a boxy-style older white car.

Accident Makes Things Better

A vehicle lost its brakes and hit a bush at Metrick's Motel on Pearl Road June 16.

The owner surveyed the damage and told police it may have actually improved his landscaping, a report said.

The vehicle was not damaged.

Pranks

Kids were ringing doorbells on Kylemore Drive the evening of June 15.

One resident reported about 7:45 p.m. they'd already hit his house twice.

Fire in the Sky

A resident told police someone was apparently lighting balloons on fire and sending them into the air about 10 p.m. June 15.

Police found a graduation party in progress on Ringneck Circle. The group had sent a Chinese lantern up for good luck.
