Microsoft Scam May have Found a Victim: Police Blotter
The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department
A Spruce Drive woman may have been scammed by someone claiming to represent Microsoft.
The woman told police July 6 she was told by the caller she was due a refund because of errors on her account.
She gave them her account information and was promised money would be transferred through Western Union.
When she realized it was a scam, she closed her account.
Police said people posing as Microsoft employees also claim there is a problem with someone's computer, then ask the person to turn it on and enter a code.
That gives the caller access to the computer -- and all the owner's personal information.
Sink Hole
A large sinkhole opened up on West 130th Street about 6:30 p.m. July 6.

A report said the hole, which was 8 feet deep in parts, was about 100 feet north of Royalton Road, in a construction zone.
City officials called Fabrizzi, the contractor, for an emergency response. The company arrived about 7:45 p.m.

A woman was brought to the police station in connection with the incident.

A Ruth Drive resident reported about 5:30 a.m. July 5 he had four raccoons in his house.
