Midnight Grass-Cutting; Man Sleeps on Sidewalk: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

An anonymous caller complained about 4 a.m. May 31 that Costco had been cutting its grass since midnight, and the mower noise was keeping her awake.

Police found it wasn't a mower -- a construction company was cutting some sidewalk on Royalton Road.

The foreman agreed to stop and start again later in the day.

Police Called Over Firing

A Strongsville woman told police she called her child's school in Oklahoma and threatened someone.

The school then called the woman's employer and told her boss what she did, and the company fired her.

The woman told police that was a crime and asked officers to do something about it.

Police told her it was a civil matter, not a crime.

Sleepy Time

Witnesses reported a man sleeping on the sidewalk on Royalton Road about 6 p.m. May 31.

Police found it was a Pearl Road man who has alcohol and other issues, passed out on the sidewalk with his chicken dinner all around him.

Officers often just drive the man home, but his time, arrested him for disorderly conduct.

Hit-Skip on Whitney

A driver who was reportedly "all over the road" about 8:40 p.m. June 1 allegedly clipped a mailbox on Whitney Road, damaging the mailbox and breaking a mirror.

The car got onto the turnpike, so Strongsville police alerted the Ohio Highway Patrol, which stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver for OVI.
