Mischief in the Streets; Man Offended by Flag: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

Kids dragged a large tree across Waterford Parkway in the early morning hours Aug. 18.

A driver said at 3:45 a.m. she had to go on the tree lawn to get past in, and it looked like someone else had already hit it.

Police found a 100-foot oak stretched across the road and moved it into the woods.

On Sunwood Oval, someone set a line of used motor oil jugs across the road about 11 p.m. Aug. 18, blocking traffic.

Police took the containers to the Service Department for disposal.

Never Mind

An outraged driver called police Aug. 18 to report someone had put a Mexican flag above an American flag on a sign off I-71 at the turnpike.

The anonymous man was highly offended by it, a report said.

Police checked and found it was actually a Marine Corps flag and an American flag on the Brad Squires sign.

Woofing it Up

A male was reportedly yelling and barking out his second-story window on Lunn Road about 6:30 p.m. Aug. 16.

It was quiet when police arrived.

Child Endangering

Passersby reported an intoxicated woman lying on the side of the road at Pearl and Albion about 9:45 p.m. Aug. 17, with a toddler wandering around nearby.

The woman then got up and started to walk away, but ended up back on the ground, lying in the bushes, the report said.

She was arrested for child endangering. Police took the baby to the police station and contacted her grandparents, who arrived about 11:30 p.m. to pick her up.
