No Shirt, No Mall: Strongsville Police Blotter

Police were called to a dispute at SouthPark Mall about 9:40 p.m. Feb. 2 that ended with several people told to leave and one man banned.

A report said two couples were arguing in Center Court. Another man there had also taken off his shirt and was yelling at people.

One couple had left when police arrived, and officers sent the others on their way. 

The man without a shirt was banned from the mall.

Witnesses to a Crime -- or Not

Employees at a Drake Road business called police Feb. 1 when they thought a driver damaged another car and left.

The employees said when a woman got out of her car, her door hit another vehicle, damaging it. She looked around to see if anyone had noticed, then went into a nail shop.

Police located the woman, who proved that when she opened her door, it was at least 6 inches from the other vehicle.

There was some damage to the vehicle, but it apparently happened elsewhere, a report said.

Craig's List Meeting

A woman who met a guy on Craig's List may have been left high and dry when they swapped cars and he took off.

The woman said she met the man at Sheetz Feb. 2 about getting a car. He took her car and title, and she took his.

He said he'd be right back, but 45 minutes later, was not.

Police said the issue was a civil matter. Also, it happened in North Royalton, so officers took the woman to the police department there.

Weird Visit

A Pepperwood Court resident said about 12:20 a.m. Feb. 2 that a kid in a silver Mercedes was parked in her driveway.

Her husband went out to see if there was a problem, and the driver said he was intoxicated and being followed by someone.

There was, in fact, another vehicle with its lights out in the cul de sac. When the Mercedes left, the other vehicle chased after it.

Police couldn't find the vehicles in the area.

Mailbox Down

A Hastings Court resident saw someone in a gray or blue sedan with tinted windows smash his mailbox about 11:15 p.m. Feb. 2.
