Officer's Act of Kindness; Man Found Lying in Grass: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

A woman drove to Strongsville from Warren before realizing she didn't have her purse Aug. 20 — leaving her stranded on Royalton Road nearly out of gas and without any money or her cell phone.

The officer who responded gave her gas money out of his own pocket to get back to Warren, a report said.

Keep Your Opinions to Yourself?

A woman who works at Walmart called police about 10 p.m. Aug. 22 after a traffic altercation.

The woman said she saw a man violate the law, so she said something out her window.

The man then followed her to the Walmart lot, wrote down her license place number and went into the store.

The woman told police she was worried he'd do something to her car.

Officers told her to move it around the corner and to avoid saying things to other drivers out her window.

Bad Night's Sleep

Police found a man lying half in the grass and half in the mulch, with his arms tucked inside his shirt, outside the Royalton Greens apartments about 7:30 a.m. Aug. 22.

The man turned out to be alive and well, a report said, although he had no idea how he'd gotten there.

He remembered being in Olmsted Falls the previous night.

He had money and said he would make arrangements to get home.

No Detective Needed

A woman came out of a Royalton Road store Aug. 20 and found the front bumper of her car damaged.

She also found the license plate of the vehicle that had been parked in front of her, a report said.

Heavy Theft

An Antler Lane woman reported someone stole $1,000 in change from her house.
