Man Found Crouching in Garage; Car Stolen from Driveway: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department


A car was reported stolen from an Ordner Drive driveway Dec. 29.

The owner said the 1996 Ford Probe GT was locked at the time. He parked it at 2:45 a.m. and had both keys in his possession.

The vehicle was recovered in Cleveland later in the day.

Crouching Man

Police got a report of a man dressed in black stumbling around the field near GFS about 5 a.m. Jan. 29.

A few minutes later, officers followed footprints to a house on Stafford Drive, where they found a man in black in the garage, crouched down.

The man was, in fact, highly intoxicated, the report said. But he lived at the address, and had made it home safely.

Theft from Restaurant

Two employees of Buca di Beppo reported money was take from their purses the evening of Dec. 28.

The purses were in a washroom that about 30 employees had access to.

Business is Open But Closed

Police found the Entenmann's outlet store on Pearl Road closed but business, but with doors wide open about 9 p.m. Dec. 28.

They were called by employees of Brew Kettle, who noticed the garage door was open hours after the store closed for the day.

Police called the manager, but learned she was ill and unable to come lock up. Officers secured the doors for her.
