An anonymous caller told police about a woman apparently huffing something in a carport at a Whitney Road apartment complex about 10:45 p.m. May 10.

The caller said the woman had the seat laid back.

Police found a Mayfield Heights woman, 27, who was conscious but "out of it," a report said.  She had been huffing and industrial aerosol.

The woman refused an ambulance to the hospital. She was arrested and charged with drug abuse.

Gunshot Reported

A Whitney Road resident reported hearing a muffled gunshot about 1 a.m. May 7.

The caller said it came from inside a house, and that the shot came from a handgun, not a rifle.

Police couldn't find anything unusual in the area, and an officer on patrol nearby said he did not hear a shot.

Solicitors Want Your Bill

Several residents have reported solicitors from Spark Energy who are asking to see your gas bill.

A Lake Meadows Drive resident told police May 7 she felt the two men and one woman misrepresented themselves as being from Columbia Gas.

Some of the visitors had valid solicitor badges, while others did not, the reports said.

Animal is Fine

Police looked into a report of a raccoon trapped in a container on Brushwood Lane May 8.

Police found it was actually a baby opossum, and it wasn't trapped.

Officers advised the resident to leave it alone until its mother returns.
