Police Blotter: Funny Money isn't Counterfeit; Barking Man Questioned

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

An employee at called police June 11 after a woman paid with what appeared to be counterfeit money.

A description of the suspect was given, but police didn't need it.

An officer explained to the employee that the bills weren't fake, just old -- the $5 and $10 bills were printed in 1950 and 1953.

What's That? Timmy's in the Well?

Police were called to a Pearl Road apartment shortly after midnight June 13 about a man screaming from his balcony and barking like a dog.

Officers questioned the man, who denied doing either. He said he was singing along with his iPod.

Theft from Van

An iPad, DVD player and several DVDs were stolen from a van on Jonathan Drive the night of June 10.

The owner said he wasn't sure if he left the vehicle unlocked or not, but police said there were no signs of forced entry.

Purse Found

A small purse containing eight gift cards was turned in to police June 11.

There was no name inside. Police will keep the purse until the owner is located.

Woman Found Crawling

An officer spotted a woman crawling through the grass outside about 2 a.m. June 11.

The woman said she'd had too much wine and decided to go for a walk, barefoot, but felt ill and was in the bushes vomiting when the officer found her.

The officer drove her home with a warning about the law on public intoxication and the potential dangers of her behavior.

Mischief

Someone spray-painted a garage door on Echo Drive and left a "Scary Movie note" the night of June 11, a report said.

The same thing happened to someone on Burnham, the report said.
