Police Blotter: Hit-Skip on 71, Theft, Harassment

Hit-skip
A driver on I-71 sounthbound reported he was involved in a hit-and-run accident at about 10:30 p.m. Aug. 3. He wasn't sure but he thought the other vehicle was a Ford Explorer.
Theft

• A caregiver for a man with dementia on the 18200 block of Carol Drive told police on Aug. 3 that the patient's daughter, who has power of attorney, has stolen money from the patient's account in he past year.
• About $5 in change was taken from a car on the 20400 block of Homestead Park on Aug. 3. The glovebox was open but a GPS device was not taken.

Telecommunications harassment
• A woman on the 8700 block of Fair Road said her soon-to-be-ex-husband was sending vulgar text messages on Aug. 3. Police told the man to stop sending messages, and he said he would comply.
• A man on the 9700 block of Brookline Oval told police on Aug. 3 he had been receiving threatening phone calls from an ex-classmate. Police contacted the ex-classmate and advised him to stop. He said would, but made accusations against the complainant. Both parties were told to contact Strongsville police if any further problems arose.
