Police Blotter: Intruder Smokes in Car, then Leaves; 'Sketchy' Man Wearing Gloves is Spotted

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A man told police he believes someone entered his car and smoked cigarettes while he was at a Pearl Road gym.

The victim said when he returned to his car about 2:50 a.m. May 18, he could smell cigarette smoke and found some of his belongings on the floor. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle.

The incident took place outside , 14783 Pearl Rd.

Police advised the man to start locking his car doors.

A motorist followed a woman driving "all over the road" about noon on May 18 and reported she might be intoxicated.

Police saw the woman make an unsafe lane change, trying to squeeze between two other vehicles, and stopped her in the Borders plaza.

A test revealed she had not been drinking. However, when the witness was following her, she was trying to take off a sweater, a report said.

She was cited for the unsafe lane change.

And Don't Be Sketchy

A wtness reported a man who "looked very sketchy" pulled into the lot about noon May 18.

The man was wearing a hood, sunglasses and gloves. 

Police noted the license number of the car, but did not locate the man.

Theft Suspects Nabbed

A North Red Rock Drive resident reported seeing someone breaking into a neighbor's car about 3:50 a.m.

Police stopped two men, both from Strongsville, in the area and arrested both.

Afternoon Mischief

A Stoughton Drive resident found blue paint on his garage door the evening of May 19.

A report said the paint was put there between noon and 4:30 p.m. 

An officer helped the man wash off the paint with no damage to the door.

Men Crash and Run

Two men being pursued by state troopers crashed their car near and bailed about 1:20 a.m. May 20, according to a report.

Police dog Tesco was brought in to track the men, who ran toward I-71, but they couldn't be located.

The Ohio Highway Patrol had tried to stop the car for a traffic violation.
