Police Blotter: Kid who Left Backpack Can't Get it Back Now; Teen Threatens Boys with Knife

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

An employee at Rite Aid called police Oct. 11 after finding marijuana and a pipe in a youth's backpack.

A report said about 10 kids went into the store about 7:30 p.m., and store policy requires they leave their bags at the front of the store.

The group left, but one backpack was left behind.

The clerk looked in the bag to find identification, but instead found the drug items.

A report said one boy did come back in to ask for his bag, but the woman said she was calling the police.

Knife Threat

A mom on Fox Grove told police a teenage boy threatened her fourth-grade son with a knife Oct. 11.

The boy said he was in the front yard with a neighbor when a teenage boy ran at them with a knife. The teen had curly hair, a report said.

The boy couldn't describe the knife.

Outdoor Living

Someone might be living outside St. Francis Animal Hospital on Pearl Road, a report said.

Employees have found bags of debris on a back patio and believe someone is staying there at night.

Screaming Heard

A 911 hang-up call took police to Timber Edge Place shortly after midnight Oct. 8.

A dispatcher said she could hear yelling and screaming in the background.

Police found nothing amiss at the home -- they didn't mean to call 911 and the yelling was from the TV.

But a man at the home was found to have a warrent for larceny. He was arrested.

Bald Man Comes In

A Royalton Road woman reported that a bald man walked into her apartment Oct. 8.

A report said the man unlocked the door and walked in about 7 p.m. When he saw the woman and her daughter, he left.

It looked like a neighbor, but when police questioned the other tenant, he denied it.
