Police Blotter: Looking for Antlers, Using Laptop while Driving, Death Threat

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

Police were called twice in the last few days about a man going into wooded areas to look for deer antlers.

On Feb. 28, a Fair Road woman found a blue car in her driveway and a man walking around. He asked if he could check her woods for deer antlers.

She said no and he left.

On March 1, a man on Mohawk Trail noticed a gold truck parked behind a business and a man in the woods. He called police, worried someone was cutting down trees and taking wood.

Officers spoke with the owner of the truck, who said he was in the woods looking for deer antlers. He said he wasn't aware he wasn't allowed.

Death Threat

A Boston Road teenager arrived home March 1 to find a note on the door that said they were all going to be killed that night.

Police are investigating.

Typing While Driving

A motorist reported a man driving a truck north on I-71 who was using a laptop while he drove about 9 a.m. Feb. 28.

Police said the driver got onto the turnpike.

Witness Reports Blood on Car Window

A clerk at a Pearl Road gas station said a male in a car hit a girl in the back seat so hard blood splashed on the window Feb. 29.

Police tracked down the victim to Olmsted Falls, where they found the red stuff was transmission fluid, not blood.

A report said a brother and sister were arguing, and the girl went into the gas station to complain about her brother. Whe she got back, he sprayed her with transmission fluid.

Their mother said she'd handle the situation.

Tense Moments

A 4-year-old on Falling Leaves Drive apparently wandered out the door in the middle of the night.

Police were called about 1:35 a.m. Feb. 28. A report said the front door to the house was open.

The boy was located about 10 minutes later in the back seat of the family car.

Lasering

A motorist on Westwood Drive reported someone was shining a green laser light on cars as they passed about 6:45 p.m. Feb. 28.

The laser wielder couldn't be located.

Phone Foolery

Police were called Feb. 29 because a Whitney Road man keeps getting calls from his sister's boyfriend in Las Vegas.

The Strongsville man said he called the boyfriend in the middle of the night and woke him. Since then, the boyfriend has been calling at all hours in retaliation.

Both admitted it was immature behavior and agreed to grow up.
