Police Blotter: Owner Thinks Someone Stole His Truck, then Brought it Back

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

An Albion Road man told police he believes someone took his truck during the night and then returned it before 8:30 a.m.

A report said the man found damage to the driver's sideview mirror the morning of Oct. 3.

He had left the keys in the vehicle overnight, the report said.

Trapped by Dog

A Royalton Road woman called for help about 11 a.m. Oct. 4 because a dog had her trapped in her house.

Police said the dog was chasing people and the woman was afraid to leave her home with her two children.

Officers called the animal warden, who set up traps.

Keep Walking, Bud

A Drake Road man got an unexpected visit by a man in a hoodie about 9 p.m. Oct. 3 while he was in his garage.

A report said the man walked into the garage, even though the resident told him to stop. When he told him to stop again, the stranger said he wanted to bum a cigarette.

The resident ordered him off his property and the intruder left.

Theft from Auto

A GPS was stolen from a car on Nanci Drive Sept. 29.

The vehicle was unlocked.

Solicitor Leaves Clean Spot Behind

Some men selling a cleaning product door-to-door were chased out of town after a Kylemore Drive woman complained they poured the liquid on her porch and left a discolored spot behind.

Police located the men about 11:30 a.m. Oct. 4 and went to the house, where they found the spot on the porch was clean, not discolored The solicitors said they would leave a free gallon of their product behind to clean the rest of the porch.

They were warned about soliciting without a permit. But after another complaint on Waterfall Road about 5:45 p.m., police told the crew they would be arrested if they did not leave right away.

Vandalism on Inglewood

Vandals ripped the antenna from a car on Inglewood Court the night of Oct. 1.

The owner also found a "road closed" sign on top of the car.
