Police Blotter: Snoring Gives Away New Year's Drunk
The following information was provided by the Strongville police department
A tenant at a Whitney Road apartment heard someone snoring in the hallway about 7:30 a.m. New Year's Day and called police.
Police found the snorer lying by the elevator on the fourth floor.
The sleepy man, of Cleveland, was charged with disorderly conduct.

Greeting the New Year with a Bang
Neighbors complained about people on Lyon Lane shooting off M-80s about every 10 minutes on Dec. 31.

The noise was reported about 8 p.m.
Suspicious Cell Phone Use
Shoppers at reported a man taking pictures of girls on the escalator about 8:40 p.m. Dec. 30.
Police identified the man, who said he was texting his wife. There was no evidence of any photos of girls.
Midnight Visitor
Someone pounded on the back door of a Highland Park home about 12:20 a.m. Dec. 30.
Police checked the area, but couldn't locate the knocker.
Minute Theft
Police made four visits to a Whitney Road apartment late Dec. 29 and early Dec. 30, one because a woman said her boyfriend took her phone and used all her minutes.
He left her his phone, but all his minutes were used up, too, a report said.
Police got the man to return the phone and warned both about continuing to call about their arguments.
Work for Food
Callers reported a woman standing on Pearl Road with a "will work for food" sign about 10:30 a.m. Dec. 31, but police said she was not approaching vehicles.
They spoke with her an hour later when she reportedly started stepping out into traffic. The woman, who lives in Ravenna, said she had gotten enough money and was leaving for the day.
