Police Blotter: Stink Bombs Thrown at House; Not Much of a Facebook Friend

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A Bear Creek Lane resident was concerned after something was thrown at his door early June 29.

The man said he heard a loud knock about 1:30 a.m. He went to the door and turned on the light, then something hit his door, a report said.

Police determined it was two stink bombs. There was no damage to the door.

Shooting in Yard

A Blazey Trail man has been shooting a pellet gun in his yard, an anonymous caller reported June 30.

Police spoke with the man, who was not shooting it at the time. They warned him about discharging weapons within city limits.

The man was shooting at a cardboard target, a report said.

Some Friend

A Pearl Road man complained to police that one of his Facebook friends was posting personal things about him online.

Police said the posts were not threatening, but the victim believed they were too personal.

Officers advised him to unfriend the man posting the items and, if he was still upset, to stop using Facebook.

Kids Run from Pool Party

A noisy pool party on Lorraine Drive ended with several citations citations and a bunch of teens hiding in the house.

A neighbor reported the loud party and possible underage drinking about 1:30 a.m. June 29.

When police arrived, they saw one person running from the scene and another two outside; one was cited for underage consumption. The people hiding in the house wouldn't open the door for the girl to get her shoes or her other belongings, a report said.

Police also cited six vehicles for violating the night parking ordinance.

Teens Break Into School

Two teens allegedly broke into Surrarrer Elementary about 8:45 p.m. July 1.

A witness saw two exit the school and run toward Jonathan Drive.

Police located four kids nearby. The witness identified two of them, both 16, as the ones in the building. 

They could face charges of breaking and entering.

Mailboxes Damaged

Residents on Coronet Drive and Harper Road woke up July 1 to find their mailboxes knocked over.

Another mailbox on Atlantic Road was damaged, but still standing, a report said.
