Police Blotter: Strange Gas Can Request; Woman Fears She Said Too Much

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A Prospect Road woman had an odd encounter with a young man who came to her door Dec. 11 saying he needed a gas can.

The man, who appeared to be 18 to 20, wanted the keys to her shed so he could get it.

Instead, the woman got a gas can from a neighbor and gave it to him.

He left and never returned the can. The woman also said she didn't see a car in the area.

Police checked Sheetz and Speedway and found no one matching the man's description.

Uh Oh

A Fox Hollow Drive woman reported she got a call Dec. 10 from someone claiming to be from an insurance company.

They asked for her banking information and she gave it to them, a report said.

She later became suspicious and reported the call.

A Creek Bend Court resident reported Dec. 10 his Christmas lights were pulled out and moved, and the lamp post bulbs were removed.

Police said it appears lights were also disturbed at other houses on the street.

Suspicious Purses

A witness said a man and two girls went into Brew Kettle Dec. 10 trying to sell purses the witness believed may be stolen.

Police located the suspects and found the purses they were selling were old and used. They were just trying to get some gas money, a report said.

These are meant to be spinets of information regarding police blotter in a blog format. They are not written in a lengthy narrative with introduction, building suspense and a nail biting surprise ending. If you want good novel to read, go read "The Sum of all Fears" by Tom Clancy. Keep up the good work, Debbie.
