Police Blotter: Suspicious Driver Reported, But He's Not After Your Valuables

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

A Coopers Run resident reported a red utility truck driving slowly around Westwood Farms about 11:30 p.m. Feb. 19.

The driver would sometimes get out and walk around, then get back in, a report said.

Police caught up wiith the man and found he was trash picking. The officer looked in the truck and found only items "that fell within that description," the report said.

The man was advised of the complaint and agreed to head back home to Brunswick.

Noisy Beer Pong

Some young adults caused a stir at a Whitney Road apartment about 9:20 p.m. Feb. 18 with a game of beer pong in the hallway.

The party-goers were old enough to drink, police found. They were told to keep the noise down and the party inside the apartment.

Fake Bill

A man tried to pass a counterfeit $100 bill at Macy's Feb. 17.

Employees said the man got scared and ran out, but left the fake bill behind.

Westfield SouthPark mall security turned the phony money over to police.

Not Your Room

A tenant at Metrick's Motel, 9032 Pearl Rd., told police two men used a key to open his door about 6 a.m. Feb. 17, claiming they were from housekeeping.

A chain on the door stopped them from getting in.

The man heard them knock on other doors before going into a room.

A clerk said two men matching their description had stayed in that room the night before.

Police questioned the men in that room, who denied everything.
