Police Blotter: Taser Used in Arrest; Boy Left Alone in Coffee Shop; Teens Overdose on K2

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A man wanted on three warrants was arrested Feb. 3, but only after an officer shocked him with a Taser.

A report said an officer recognized the man in the passenger seat of a car on Pearl Road about 10:30 a.m.

The driver pulled into the lot, but the passenger, 35, refused to comply with orders when the officer tried to arrest him on three outstanding warrants for contempt of court and shoplifting, Detective Lt. John Janowski said.

After being jolted with the Taser, the man complained he was short of breath and was taken to .

K2 Overdose

Two teenagers were taken to the hospital after reportedly overdosing on K2, a report said.

The male and female were found in restrooms at Westfield SouthPark mall about 7:30 p.m. Feb. 3.

K2 is chemically treated plant leaves that, when smoked, produce a high similar to marijuana. The chemicals have been banned.

Boy Left in Coffee Shop

Employees at called police about 8 p.m. Feb. 5, concerned about a young boy who had been in the coffee shop alone for hours.

The boy said he was 13, but looked younger, a report said.

He was with a man at about 2:30 p.m., but the man left and the child had been alone since then.

Police took the boy home to his nearby apartment to see if his parents were aware of his whereabouts. The boy's mother said she knew he was at Starbucks and had instructions to be home by 9 p.m.

Mischief on Forestview

A Forestview Drive resident reported Feb. 5 that someone had urinated on his house and driveway during the night.

The trespasser also left a water bottle in a flower pot.

Underage Drinking

Police shut down an party on Donegal Lane shortly after midnight Feb. 5 after reports of kids bringing beer into the house.

Police cited the homeowner for allowing alcohol and called the parents of underage guests to pick them up. 

The guests who were 18 and older were allowed to stay after all the alcohol was dumped.
