Police Blotter: Thief Steals Garage Door Opener, Uses it to Get In
The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department
A thief took a garage door opener from an unlocked car on Lake Meadows Drive early April 4 and used it to get into the garage.
Nothing appeared to be missing, but the thief took the opener with him, giving him free access to the garage later.
The resident reported the incident about 3:15 a.m.

Police checked the area, but couldn't find the suspect. The resident said he would shut off the power to his garage door until he could replace the opener and change the code.

When kids rang the doorbell at a Trotwood Park house about 11 p.m. April 11, they probably didn't expect the results.
The resident got in his car and drove through the neighborhood, pointing out to police where he could hear them talking.
He said he believes he knows who the kids are and thought they were just goofing around and not doing any damage.
Sleepy Shopper
Police were called to about noon April 10 about a man sleeping in the parking lot.
Officers found the man snoozing in his car. He said he had come to the mall to shop, but decided to take a nap.
He was told to either go in and shop or leave.

Police found the sick critter and dispatched it.
Shots Fired
Brunswick police asked Strongsville to stand by for possible back-up after gunshots were reported in the area of Boston and Howe roads.
The shots were reported about 6:30 p.m. April 11.
