Police Blotter: Welcome to Strongsville; We'll Take Those Bags for You

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

Some people visiting a Jasmine Court family got a not-so-friendly welcome to town Wednesday when someone stole their luggage.

A report said the garage door was open about 1 a.m. when someone apparently drove by, spotted the suitcase and grabbed it.

Later on Wednesday, the resident got a tip that the stolen luggage was in a pond in Pine Lakes.

Officers accompanied the residents to retrive the soggy suitcase.

Driver Offered Bribe

A woman at told police Monday a younger man hit her car in the parking lot, then offered her $500 not to call the police.

When she declined, he took off.

A witness provided a possible license plate of the offender.

Theft or Not?

An Ashwood Drive resident reported a soccer net stolen from her yard Monday, but it was actually part of a neighbor dispute.

The neighbor admitted she threw the net away, saying it was in her yard and it was garbage.

Police gave her a week to reimburse her neighbor $30 for the net.

Someone in House?

A Prospect Road woman had some tense moments Thursday evening when she got home and thought she found someone in her house.

Police found no one inside, however. The report had no explanation for what the woman saw or heard.

Jewelry Theft

at the mall reported three women stole $1,000 worth of jewelry about 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Police checked the mall for the trio, but could not find them.
