Police Blotter: Windows Broken by Rocks and Bottles; Walking Mexican Men Raise Suspicions

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

Residents on Chevy Chase and Scotch Pine Way reported broken windows in the last few days.

The Chevy Chase family heard a noise about 2:30 a.m. Sunday and later that morning found someone had thrown a beer bottle through their bay window.

On Scotch Pine, someone threw a rock that went through both panes and the screen of a bedroom window the night of April 19, causing $200 to $300 worth of damage.

The vandals also threw a lawn ornament at a Jaguar in the driveway, causing some damage.

About 1 a.m. April 20, a Woodhurst Drive resident reported kids running through the neighborhood and throwing large stones at houses. The kids were gone when officers arrived.

Border Patrol?

Someone reported four Mexican men walking on Fair Road about 5:40 p.m. April 20, all carrying white garbage bags containing their possessions, and questioned whether they were here legally.

Police spoke with the men, who all had ID cards or passports and were working for a company here.

Thefts from Vehicles

A GPS was stolen from a car on Scott Drive the night of April 20, a report said.

The same night, a cable box was taken from an unlocked truck on Sterling Way.

Long-Winded Road Rage

A woman told police she got a full-blown lecture from an angry driver on Pearl Road April 21.

The woman said she was pulling out of about 5 p.m. when another car sped up and passed her. That driver then stopped, got out of her car and stood in the intersection to rant at the woman for a full two minutes, a report said.
