Police Blotter: Windows Smashed by Brick and Kick; Bus Driver Leaves for Breakfast; 300 Beers Missing

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A malfunctioning garage door cost a Bradgate Lane resident 300 bottles of beer.

A report said the beer was stolen from the garage Saturday night after the overhead door failed to close and stayed open all night.

A motorist called police about 7:15 a.m. Friday to complain an RTA bus was stopped on Pearl Road, holding up traffic.

He called back to say the bus had just left and he saw why -- the driver had been in McDonald's getting food. He said he planned to contact RTA about it.

Two Windows Broken

A resident on Windsor Castle awoke Saturday to find one of his windows had been broken during the night. 

Police found a large boot print in the middle of the broken glass.

About 10:50 p.m. Saturday, someone threw a brick through the picture window of a Ranchwood Drive house. 

Police checked the area and found a group of kids getting into a van, but they said they had been at and had the purchases to prove it.

Slip Slidin' on Howe

At least five accidents in 90 minutes were reported on Howe Road Sunday during a brief but intense snowstorm.

One car spun out shortly before noon, taking out a mailbox. A van slid off the road and into a ditch about 15 minutes later, which caused another minor accident involving a car and a rescue squad.

Shortly before 1 p.m., police came across another car that had slid off the road and was being pulled out by a tow truck. 

And about 1:10 p.m., two vehicles were involved in a very minor collision at the Pomeroy Boulevard intersection.
