Police Blotter: Woman Reports Panther in Her Yard

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A Knowlton Parkway woman called police about 4:50 p.m. Oct. 13 and said she was getting ready to leave her apartment but was afraid to go outside because she looked out her back window and saw a black panther outside.

Police were unable to locate a panther in the area. They told the woman it was safe to go to her car.

Evidence of two fires was found the morning of Oct. 10 at on Priem Road.

A report said one fire was started by the door to the kindergarten room, torching a hole through the door.

Another was set in the back of the building, with torch marks left on a door there, too.

No Marijuana Found

A Whitney Road woman who has called police a number of times because she smells marijuana in her apartment called again Oct. 10.

Officers walked the hallways with her, but again could not smell anything illegal.

Phone Solicitors go Door to Door

A pair of solicitors from AT&T were told to get permits if they want to visit residents' homes Oct. 11.

A Castlewood Drive woman said she saw the man and woman looking in a neighbor's windows before they came to her house.

Officers located them on Breckenridge Drive and warned them.

Wrong Window, Dude

A Knowlton Parkway resident called police about 9:15 p.m. Oct. 12 because of a man throwing rocks at her window saying, "Dad, let me in."

The rock thrower was intoxicated and had locked himself out of his apartment, a report said. He admitted he was knocking on windows to get someone's attention to let him in.

Police got him into his apartment, and his parents said they would keep an eye on him.
