Police Blotter: Woman Says She's Locked Out and Naked

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A Whitney Road woman called police shortly before 8 a.m. Nov. 15 to say her boyfriend had thrown her out of the apartment -- and she was in the hallway, naked.

When police arrived, the woman was back inside and the boyfriend had left.

Due to conflicting he-said, she-said stories, both parties were given statements to write.

Con Artists Win One

An 80-year-old Chatman Drive woman fell victim to the "grandparent scam," in which someone calls an older person, pretending to be their grandchild.

The caller says he's in trouble and needs cash.

The woman sent $7,800 overseas to help her grandchild, only to learn later it was a scam.

Child Endangering

A Cleveland woman got off with a warning after leaving her two young children in the car at  the morning of Nov. 14.

Police said the kids, aged 1 and 2, appeared healthy and their mom, when confronted, burst into tears and said she knew it wasn't a good decision. 

Because the woman had no history of child neglect, officers let her off with a warning, but documented the incident and said if it ever happens again, she will be charged.

Resident Finds Doors Open

A Needlewood Circle woman arrived home about 4:45 p.m. Nov. 14 to find both her garage door and the door leading to the house open.

Police walked through and found no one inside and nothing disturbed. It remains unexplained how both doors were opened.

Rainstorm Robber

A resident on Creek Bent Court reported fnding someone in his vehicle during the heavy rainstorm Nov. 14.

The man saw someone in the vehicle and yelled, and the person took off running. Nothing was missing from the vehicle.
