Ring of Jewelry Thieves Hits Strongsville
The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department
A band of jewelry thieves hit the area May 8, targeting stores in at least five cities, including Strongsville.
Benchmark Jewelers, 13500 Pearl Rd., reported about 3 p.m. that five rings were missing from the store after two men visited.
Detective Lt. John Janowski said an investigation revealed at least five jewelry stores in the area were hit that day, including Brunswick, North Royalton, Brecksville and Broadview Heights.

"They started in Brunswick, came to Strongsville and headed east," Janowski said.
The team included at least four people -- two black men, a white man and a white woman, Janowski said.

They did not steal jewelry from each of the stores, but did get items from Brunswick and North Royalton, as well as Strongsville.
The value of the stolen items is not yet known, Janowski said.
The suspects in Strongsville were tall, thin black men, one with black-rimmed glasses and one wearing a baseball cap.
In Brunswick, a white man entered a store alone, a report said.
