Storm Takes Down Tree, Closes Prospect

Crews working this morning to remove branches from road

High winds toppled a large tree on Prospect Road last night, forcing police to close the street between Greenfield Place and Albion Road this morning.

Laurie Bevier and her husband, Nick, who own the property, heard the tree crack about 12:30 a.m.

"It happened with the first big wind, right when the storm came in," Laurie said.

She called police, who set up roadblocks.

Crews arrived about 8:30 a.m. to start cutting branches to remove the tree from the roadway.

Residents in the neighborhood had electricity this morning, but Laurie Bevier said she was warned they might lose power as the tree was removed.
