'Strange' Animal Found; Passenger in Truck Looks Dead: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

A Lunn Road couple told police they found a "strange" animal May 25 -- they said it had a furry tail and didn't look like a raccoon, opossum or groundhog.

Police determined it was a baby groundhog. The couple put it in a cage and said they would take it to an animal rehabilitation facility, but would feed it in the meantime.

'Weekend at Bernie's' Situation

A motorist on I-71 reported May 26 that a passenger in a truck she was following on I-71 looked dead.

The truck exited on Royalton Road, and police stopped the vehicle in front of David's Bridal about 1:30 p.m. 

"Everyone in the vehicle is alive and well," a report said.

Dispatchers called the woman back to let her know the passenger was fine.

Late Visitors

A woman on Bridle Trail said two men were outside her bedroom window about 1 a.m. May 25, yelling a woman's name and banging on something.

The men took off, but they broke the woman's fence, a report said.

Creepy Music

A Stafford Drive resident reported hearing loud, creepy music coming from somewhere in the area May 25.

The caller said the music started about 4 p.m. and will still being played at 10 p.m.

Officers stayed in the area awhile but heard no music.
