Strongsville Man Found Guilty of Murder

Sentencing set for May 17

After a seven day trial, a jury found a Strongsville man guilty of two counts of aggravated murder in connection with an 2010 incident in Cleveland, according to Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason.

Terrance Williams was also found guilty of one count of kidnapping, one count of discharging a firearm on or near a prohibited premises, and one count of carrying concealed weapons.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 17 in Judge Joseph Russo’s courtroom.

On Oct. 22, 2010, Williams, 38, arrived at a house party on Donald Avenue near East 71st Street in Cleveland.

At gunpoint, he accused the victim, Artimis Darden, 18, of breaking into a car. Williams entered the residence and forcibly removed the victim from the house.

Once outside, Darden attempted to get away. While fleeing, Williams shot the victim with a .45 caliber handgun in the back. Williams dragged Darden's body to the curb and fired an additional shot into his victim, killing him.

An unknown suspect then fired a separate shot, striking Williams in the shoulder. Williams collapsed on top of the victim. Williams was taken to the hospital by a friend; he survived. The victim subsequently died at MetroHealth Medical Center.
