Strongsville Police Blotter: Albion Middle School Skylight Broken Again

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

Someone broke into Sept. 10 or 11 -- damaging the skylight for the second time this month.

Detective Sgt. Dave Tomcho said nothing was taken or damaged, other than the skylight.

The previous weekend, vandals flung a drain cover onto the roof of the school. It hit the skylight, crashed through and landed on a table in the cafeteria.

Tomcho said an investigation is continuing.

Someone decorated the trees behind early Sept. 17, but not with toilet papaer.

A report said the vandals used register tape from .

Officers could hear people in the woods, but couldn't locate them. The Borders building was secure.

Smoking Crack?

Someone told police they saw an older man lying on the grass near about 7:30 p.m. Sept. 17, smoking either marijuana or crack.

No one was there when police arrived. An officer reported seeing a man sitting on the lawn there earlier, but he was doing nothing wrong.

Not Child Endangering

A witness called police after seeing two kids, 6 and 8, left alone in a car outside a Royalton Road bank about 11:30 a.m. Sept. 17.

Police spoke with the boys' 17-year-old sister, who said she could see the boys from where she was in the bank. Police also said she was only in the bank for five minutes.

Suspicious Van

A Forest Park Drive resident reported seeing a full-size cargo van driving around the development about 5:30 p.m. Sept. 17.

At one point, the van stopped and picked up another man carrying a full sack in his hands.
