Strongsville Police Blotter: Alleged Burglar Nabbed as He Carries Loot From Scene

Reports from Feb. 7-10

Police discovered -- and apparently solved -- a burglary Feb. 8 after a woman flagged down an officer on Howe Road to say she had seen a young man carrying what appeared to be a gun case.

Police located the teen, who was, in fact, carrying a case containing a gun. A registration check on the gun showed it belonged to a Cotttonwood Trail resident.

Officers went to the house to make sure it was OK, but instead found a kitchen window broken and footprints in the snow. They were able to contact the owner, who was vacationing in Florida.

The owner said he would have someone fix the damage to his house as soon as possible.
