Strongsville Police Blotter: Babysitter Sweeps Up Employer's Cash

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

While an Atlantic Road woman was away Sept. 7, her babysitter allegedly took her new vacuum cleaner back to the store -- and pocketed the money.

The woman said she still has the receipt, but the man allegedly took the vacuum to Walmart and got the $135 she paid for it.

Police are investigating.

Burglary

A tenant returned home to his Whitney Road apartment about 4 p.m. Sept 6 and found his dead bold lock open and his PlayStation gone.

The apartment was also in disarray and the window screen was torn, a report said.

Woman Chased by Drug Dealer

A woman who is staying at a Pearl Road motel told police she owes a dope dealer a lot of money and believes he is following her.

The woman, who was standing in a parking lot, asked police to take her to safety. Officers advised her to either go into her room and lock the door or move to a different motel.

Police Nab Fleeing Shoplifters

Strongsville officers apprehended three people fleeing for an alleged shoplifting incident at Home Depot in Medina Township Sept. 6.

Police there asked officers here to watch out for the suspects' car, which was headed north on I-71.

Strongsville police arrested the driver and two passengers and held them for Medina police.
