Strongsville Police Blotter: Bag is Marked With Scary Words

The following arrest information was supplied by the Strongsville police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Brittany Place resident called police May 26 after spotting a bag in the street in front of her house with "infectious waste" printed on it.

Police opened the bag and found an empty cup and cigarette butts.

They disposed of the waste.

Meter Reader Sprays Dogs

A meter reader for the Cleveland Division of Water sprayed dogs in a Winding Trail yard with pepper spray after the dogs approached in him their fenced back yard.

A report said the meter reader entered the gated yard May 24 in violation water department policy. 

Police spoke with a supervisor, who said the employee would be disciplined.

Car Left Running in Parking Lot

A passerby reported an unoccupied car left running in the parking lot near about 6:45 p.m. May 23. 

Police were called away to handle a felony arrest, but contacted the owner of the car later, who said his wife had been driving the car and everything was fine. 

Break-in was Pre-Approved

Management stopped a woman from trying to get into a Pearl Road motel by removing a screen from a window May 23.

The woman told police she was allowed to be in the room even though it was registered to someone else. The man staying there acknowledged he gave the woman permission to stay there because of storm damage her Elyria home. 

She told police she was trying to get a key from the room.

Trucker Almost Hits Pajama-Wearing Woman

A trucker driving at Albion and Pearl roads about 4:45 a.m. May 24 almost hit a woman wearing pajamas who walked right in front of his semi, a report said.
