Strongsville Police Blotter: Couple at ATM Looking for Butts, not Bucks

Also, someone reports hearing a wolf, woman calls police over $3 debt

Employees at the , 10883 Pearl Rd., called police May 10 about a couple hanging around the ATM.

A report said the man and woman were there after closing May 9, lingering around the ATM but not using it. They returned the next morning and did the same thing, the report said.

Police spoke with the pair, who said they were there to take the cigarettes out of the ash tray.

• A Jacque Road resident called police shortly before 3 a.m. May 12 to report hearing loud animal noises that sounded like a wolf killing a deer in his back yard. Police found a raccoon, but no evidence of a larger wildlife fight.

• On Pebble Brook Lane, a woman said a young child showed up at her house about 7 p.m. May 9. A few minutes later, dispatchers got a 911 hang-up call from someone else on Pebble Brook. When they called back, they reached a distraught father who said he could not find his 3-year-old son. Police were able to reunite the two.

• An hour-long downpour flooded a number of streets May 12, forcing police to close parts of Boston, Prospect, Marks, Pearl and Admiralty.

People were stuck in their cars, unable to get through areas of Boston and Prospect about 5:15 p.m. 

Police determined clogged sewer drains were contributing to the problem.  Officers, service department workers and neighbors helped clear them.

• A man in his 50s was yelling at passing cars and animals at Valley Parkway and Pearl Road about 8:15 a.m. May 11. Police identified the man, who walked back to his room at .

• A Westwood Drive resident reported that her neighbor is harassing her. The woman is claiming her neighbor owes her $3 for helping defrost her freezer five or 10 years ago. The victim denies owing the money.
