Strongsville Police Blotter: Door-to-Door Panhandler Sought

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A Barbara Drive couple got suspicious after a man came to their door July 14 asking for change.

The man followed the elderly male resident into the kitchen during the visit. He left in a white Chevy.

Police checked the area, but could not locate the man.

Balloon Makes Getaway

A yellow mylar balloon was spotted against the power lines in front of July 12. A witness said every time it bumped the line, there was a buzzing sound.

Police said it did not appear to be a hazard, but the situation took care of itself anyway. While the officer was trying to find the pole number, the balloon freed itself and floated away.

Dog Owner Not Concerned

Police were called to check on a dog left in a Pearl Road parking lot July 12 because the car windows were barely open.

When officers spoke with the owner, he replied, "Tough." The dog was not panting and there was food in the car, the report said.

Cars Targeted at Volunteer Park

Several cars were broken into at Volunteer Park, 21410 Lunn Rd., the evening of July 12.

Two people reported their rear car windows were smashed. One report came in at 8:30 p.m., the other shortly before 11 p.m.

A purse was stolen from one of the cars. 

Another victim call police July 13 to say her purse was also stolen from her car the previous night.

Vandalism

Kids egged a house on Saddle Horn Circle the night of July 12. Residents also found spray paint on the driveway.

More Road Rage

Police were asked to look into a traffic altercation when a Rocky River woman reported a man had passed her on the median on I-71 July 14.

She said the man then brake-checked her and yelled at her.

The man, contacted later by police, admitted to passing in the median because he was in a hurry.
